When you hire me for your NOVA newborn photo session, you will have the most relaxing time being photographed in your own home! Whether you've just recently come home from the hospital or birth center or had your baby at home, you may not be ready to venture out of the house for big trips yet in those first few weeks of baby's life! So why don't you let me bring all of my camera equipment to you! You'll get to snuggle with your newborn in various rooms in your house while I'm a fly on the wall observing it all. I will gently guide you into place and then let you naturally interact with your baby and your family. If you want more assistance with what to do for the photos, I can help with that too!
So let's do this together. My welcome guide will walk you through the things you need to do to get yourselves and your house ready, and I will help you style the whole family. I even have some outfits and wraps for baby and do some lightly posed newborn photos. You won't have to do a whole lot leading up to your NOVA newborn photo session or during the session! I also build extra time into the session so mom, baby, and siblings have the time they need for breaks. I want to make the process of working with me for your newborn photo session in Northern VA as easy as possible. That's why I've taken such care to streamline and enhance my client experience. Every session starts with a conversation. I want all of the details! When you're due, what you're having (if you know), what you're craving...you name it! Nothing is off the table when you're with me. Think of me as just another mom friend because I remember what it's like. I know it's not all glamorous (though you will be during your session), and I'm happy to listen and talk to you about your experiences.
Reach out and let's start talking about what you're looking for in your in-home lifestyle newborn session. We'll put you on the calendar for your due date, and once your baby arrives, we'll schedule a firm date for your session.
Say Hello
After I've penciled you in on your due date for your newborn session, you'll receive my newborn prep guide that goes over a lot of the little details that will help make your session go smoothly.
While we wait for your precious little one to arrive, we'll start the conversation about what everyone will wear to the session. Don't panic, I'm here to help with suggestions!
Planning Your Session
When you hire me as your in-home lifestyle newborn photographer, I am at your disposal. Ask me anything. I want your session to go as smoothly as possible when the time comes. But I also want to be supportive in any way that I can be. Honestly, no topic is off limits! I am here to support you and to help you.
Once your baby is born, you'll want to let me know as soon as possible so that we can officially get your session on my calendar. But don't worry, your due date will be your placeholder, and I only take a certain number of newborn sessions per month to ensure I have time for everyone!
Keeping In Touch
A few days prior to our session, I'll reach out to confirm our time and your address. This is a great time to ask any last minute questions or discuss any ideas you may have for your session. I'll come to your home at your session time, and we'll get right to it!
We will go through your session at yours and your baby's pace. I schedule sessions with enough wiggle room to allow for breaks, so don't be afraid to speak up if you or the baby need one. I remember how much time and attention newborns need so don't feel like you're taking too long to get baby fed or settled. Don't worry about a thing! You're all going to knock this out of the park!
Your Newborn Session
We made it through your session, and you can focus on bonding with your newborn knowing that you'll get your photos soon! You can expect to receive your session gallery within four weeks of your session, but I always try my best to get them back to you sooner. I know how anxious you are to see the photos. Once you've wiped away the happy tears, you will have the opportunity to select your included digital images as well as purchase any additional digitals and print products through your private online viewing gallery.
Your Photographs
When you want to preserve these precious newborn details and the early memories of having your newest addition at home with you, an in-home lifestyle newborn session is the perfect way to do just that.
With this type of session, you'll get up to 2 hours of my time in your home. Your session includes 35+ digital images and a set of 3 mini brag books (great to share with both sets of grandparents) after our time together.
You'll receive guidance leading up to your session on what to wear, how to prepare, and what to expect. I'll be available every step of the way to assist you in any way I can to make sure you're prepared for your big day!
The Experience
Are you ready to document your entire motherhood journey with me? Let's do this! I offer custom bundles where you can combine two, three, or four sessions into one package! The more you book, the more you save! I love working with clients to give them exactly what they want, and these bundles are the way to go! And these bundles are automatically placed on a monthly payment plan to help spread out the investment!
