When you book me as your Northern Virginia newborn photographer, the process is designed to be as simple and stress-free as possible from start to finish. Before your session, my welcome guide walks you through exactly how to prepare your home and your family so nothing feels like a surprise. I'll also help you style everyone, and I even bring outfits and wraps for baby so you don't have to worry about sourcing the perfect newborn look on your own. Alongside the relaxed lifestyle moments, I also incorporate some lightly posed newborn photos to give you a beautiful variety in your gallery.
During your session, I'll gently guide your family into place and then step back and let things unfold naturally. You don't have to know what you're doing because that's my job! If you want more direction along the way, I'm right there for that too. Whatever makes you feel most comfortable is what we'll do. I also build extra time into every NoVA newborn session so there's plenty of room for feeding breaks, sibling moments, and anything else that comes up. No rushing, no rigid schedule, no pressure to perform.

I'm a Northern Virginia newborn photographer and fellow mom who remembers how those first few days at home felt. Overwhelming, beautiful, exhausting, and somehow the most precious thing all at once.
Newborn sessions are something I hold really close to my heart. I come to the comfort of your home so you never have to worry about packing up your newborn and heading somewhere unfamiliar. We keep things slow, relaxed, and on your little one's terms. No rush, no stress. Just you, your baby, and all those tiny details you already want to freeze forever.
I cannot wait to meet your newest little one and help you remember this chapter always.

The Process
Every session starts with a conversation. I want all of the details! When you're due, what you're having (if you know), what you're craving...you name it! Nothing is off the table when you're with me. Think of me as just another mom friend because I remember what it's like. I know it's not all glamorous (though you will be during your session), and I'm happy to listen and talk to you about your experiences.
Reach out and let's start talking about what you're looking for in a Northern Virginia newborn photographer. We'll put you on the calendar for your due date, and once your baby arrives, we'll schedule a firm date for your session.

After I've penciled you in on your due date for your newborn session, you'll receive my newborn prep guide that goes over a lot of the little details that will help make your session go smoothly.
While we wait for your precious little one to arrive, we'll start the conversation about what everyone will wear to the session. Don't panic, I'm here to help with suggestions!
Planning Your Session
When you hire me as your in-home lifestyle newborn photographer, I am at your disposal. Ask me anything. I want your session to go as smoothly as possible when the time comes. But I also want to be supportive in any way that I can be. Honestly, no topic is off limits! I am here to support you and to help you.
Once your baby is born, you'll want to let me know as soon as possible so that we can officially get your session on my calendar. But don't worry, your due date will be your placeholder, and I only take a certain number of newborn sessions per month to ensure I have time for everyone!
Keeping In Touch
A few days prior to our session, I'll reach out to confirm our time and your address. This is a great time to ask any last minute questions or discuss any ideas you may have for your session. I'll come to your home at your session time, and we'll get right to it!
We will go through your session at yours and your baby's pace. I schedule sessions with enough wiggle room to allow for breaks, so don't be afraid to speak up if you or the baby need one. I remember how much time and attention newborns need so don't feel like you're taking too long to get baby fed or settled. Don't worry about a thing! You're all going to knock this out of the park!
Your Newborn Session
We made it through your session, and you can focus on bonding with your newborn knowing that you'll get your photos soon! You can expect to receive your session gallery within four weeks of your session, but I always try my best to get them back to you sooner. I know how anxious you are to see the photos. Once you've wiped away the happy tears, you will have the opportunity to select your included digital images as well as purchase any additional digitals and print products through your private online viewing gallery.

The Newborn Experience
When you want to preserve these precious newborn details and the early memories of having your newest addition at home with you, an in-home lifestyle newborn session is the perfect way to do just that.
With this type of session, you'll get up to 2 hours of my time in your home. Your session includes 35+ digital images and a set of 3 mini brag books (great to share with both sets of grandparents) after our time together.
You'll receive guidance leading up to your session on what to wear, how to prepare, and what to expect. As your Northern Virginia newborn photographer, I'll be available every step of the way to assist you in any way I can to make sure you're prepared for your big day!

Are you ready to document your entire motherhood journey with me? Let's do this! As your Northern Virginia newborn photographer, I offer custom bundles where you can combine two, three, or four sessions into one package! The more you book, the more you save! I love working with clients to give them exactly what they want, and these bundles are the way to go! And these bundles are automatically placed on a monthly payment plan to help spread out the investment! These bundles are great for pregnancy announcements, baby gender reveals, maternity sessions, newborn sessions, milestone sessions, and beyond!
