The trust that families put in me to capture their new lives with their little bundle of joy during their in home lifestyle newborn photo session is so incredibly special to me. It is always an absolute honor to photograph these moments! When momma reached out to me after her little girl was born, I was so thankful that I had the availability to fit her in the week after she contacted me. So a week later, I was off to Manassas for a newborn photography session!
When I got there, baby girl was not all too happy! It’s such a big transition for babies to be in this big new world where everything is so vastly different from the womb! No wonder they get mad! I know I don’t like getting out of bed from under the covers when I’m nice and snuggly and warm haha! But once she got to eat and we started the session, she started to calm down and loved being snuggled.
After we took some photos in the formal living space, we went up to baby girl’s nursery where I swaddled her for some additional comfort. Let me tell you, she loved that! She fell asleep quickly, and we were able to move her all over with no issue whatsoever! Although these are lifestyle newborn sessions, I still sometimes like to bring a basket for some light posing. It’s still mostly the lifestyle newborn photography look, but with a little bit of the posed look to focus on the newborn’s snuggled up little body and get some shots of their little bitty details.
And because the family’s dogs are such a big part of the family’s life, they of course took part in this Manassas newborn photo session too! They were both so sweet and gentle with the baby. I love when pets can be part of the photos too!
Thank you to this beautiful family for sharing their lives with me for a morning!
