2 Beautiful Birthing Centers in Northern VA Moms Need to Know About

When it comes to delivering your baby, your options are getting a lot more abundant. One of those options is birthing centers in Northern VA. While the option of having a hospital birth is still a valid and often chosen path, a lot more women are seeking more natural options such as birthing centers and home births. So why should you consider birthing centers for your delivery? It’s the next best thing to delivering at home.

Benefits of Birthing Centers in Northern VA

If you’re looking to have a more natural birth experience, then birthing centers in Northern Virginia might be a great option for you to look into. If you don’t want a hospital birth but a home birth is too much to take on, a birthing center can give you a little bit of both worlds. Primarily, midwives are the lead caretakers at birthing centers, and you’ll receive a lot more dedicated care. In comparison to a hospital delivery room, birthing center rooms are way more homey and comfortable, and you’ll have a lot more privacy. Birthing centers are very family focused so you’ll be able to stay together unless there’s a need for baby to receive emergency care.

Another huge benefit to giving birth at a Northern Virginia birthing center is the amount of freedom you get while delivering. Since birthing centers don’t perform epidurals, you’ll be free to move around as you please to deal with the contractions. You’ll also have access to alternate pain management provided to you by the birthing center. And once you have delivered your baby, you will also typically have a much shorter stay than at a hospital. You’ll be free to take your baby home with you within just a few hours of delivery and adjust to your new family dynamic in your own space quickly.

While there can be some downsides to choosing one of the birthing centers in Northern Virginia, they’re absolutely worth a look. Just know ahead of time that you may still need to be transferred to a hospital if there is an emergency and that insurances may not cover the use of a birthing center. Delivering at a Northern Virginia birthing center may not be the right option for everyone, so be sure to really do your research. Read on for a small insight into two birthing centers in Northern Virginia that you’ll have to tour yourself to see how beautiful they are.

Premier Birth Center Chantilly

You will feel right at home during delivery at this birthing center in Northern Virginia. Premier Birth Center Chantilly has four gorgeous birthing suites that will make you think you’re at a luxury hotel or spa. You’ll even have the option to have a water birth in the large soaking tubs in the suites. Or you have the option to just use the tub for pain management during labor. Your baby will be monitored intermittently using handheld Dopplers to keep you comfortable and able to move around so that you can manage your pain how you see fit.

Once your baby is born, all of the initial assessments are done in the comfort of your suite unless your baby requires emergency care. You will have approximately four to six hours of postpartum observation in your suite before you will be discharged to take your new little one home with you. BirthCare and Women’s Health

BirthCare’s Birth Center opened its doors in 1992 and had its first birth that August. Here you’ll find two private birthing rooms. One of these private rooms has a beautiful birthing tub for moms to use if they choose. There’s also a separate jacuzzi tub for moms to use for pain management during labor. There is a kitchen moms and their families can use during their stay, and you are encouraged to bring family and friends to encourage and help you through your labor.

At BirthCare, you are encouraged to create the birth experience that you want. Make yourself at home in your birthing room. Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. Listen to the music you want to hear during labor. Eat and drink when and what you want to. That is the beauty of laboring and delivering at a birthing center.
