Check Out Capital Women’s Care for Your Obstetric Needs

Finding the right obstetrician for your maternity journey can be a task that might seem a bit daunting if you aren’t already seeing a women’s care specialist. The options can be overwhelming and you want to make the right decision, but remember that you can always change your care provider if you aren’t receiving the kind of care you want or expect during pregnancy. In order to help you narrow down your search, check out Capital Women’s Care to see if they sound like a good place to start your search with their large number of providers.

About Capital Women’s Care

Capital Women’s Care has been serving Virginia, DC, and Maryland since 1998, when seven local practices joined together. Since we all know that traffic in this area can be a nightmare, the fact that there are 55 locations to choose from makes it an easy task to find a practice closer to home. They have over 250 physicians, nurse practitioners, physician’s assistants, and certified nurse midwives. “The Capital Women’s Care network enables rapid coordination with specialists to address your individual medical needs, including second opinions, high risk pregnancy care, ultrasounds and surgical procedures.”

Obstetrics

From the first symptoms of pregnancy through labor and postpartum care, the providers at Capital Women’s Care will be there for you. Your providers will be equipped to handle normal pregnancies as well as any pregnancy with medical challenges.

Their website is a wealth of knowledge about pregnancy and all that you could possibly want to know at any point in time. You’ll find detailed information about each trimester; challenges such as diabetes, thyroid disease, and blood clotting; and abnormalities such as hyperemesis and preeclampsia. To prepare yourself for labor, you’ll find lots of information about what to expect in regards to your changing body, when to go to the hospital, pain management techniques, and more.

Postpartum information is also available to you on the Capital Women’s Care website. If you plan on breastfeeding, you can read about the benefits, how to get started, what you should be eating, and if your baby is getting enough milk. Since mental health is also super important for everyone to include new mothers, postpartum depression is another topic you’ll find. Check out the signs to watch out for, what you can do, and when to contact your doctor.

Although you have so much knowledge right at the tip of your fingertips, you’ll be able to discuss all of these things with your provider during your check-ups. If you have any questions at all, don’t ever hesitate to ask your provider questions.

Patient Portal

In order to simplify communication between patients and their providers, the Capital Women’s Care convenient and easy to use Patient Portal provides 24/7 access. You’ll be able to easily write to your provider and the practice in a secure manner, access all of your medical records, and schedule your own appointments. The Patient Portal has also been optimized for mobile use, so you’ll even have access to all of your records on the go.

Other Services

Since they do so much more than obstetrics, I just wanted to quickly highlight a few of their other services as well.  After all, women’s care doesn’t just start or stop at obstetrics. At Capital Women’s Care, you’ll also be able to receive these other services:

  • Gynecology
  • Mammography
  • Outpatient surgery
  • Bone density scans
  • Non-invasive cosmetic procedures
