Story will provide the Certified Nurse Midwife and a birth assistant; you can have anyone, including family, friends, and even a doula, for extra support. You will have Story on your side the minute you find out you are expecting. She will conduct in-home visits every trimester for screenings, tests, and measurements to ensure that you and your baby are growing healthy and happy.
Having your baby at home means having a peaceful, family-centered postpartum. Additionally, Story will stay after the baby is born to help with breastfeeding and ensure the baby is doing well. She will then see you in your home a couple of days after birth. This visit ensures everything is going well and to see how you are recovering. Additionally, you will finalize any paperwork for birth certificates and whatnot. You then will receive a visit a few weeks after birth to ensure everything is going as perfectly as it should be. You can continue to go to Fairfax Home Birth for annual OBGYN exams or gynecological care as needed. Story is as available to postpartum clients as she is for pregnant clients. So no matter what you need, Fairfax Home Birth will support and care throughout your pregnancy journey.
