Finding cute dresses for your child can be surprisingly difficult. You want something functional enough that your child will actually want to wear, but you don’t want to compromise on style or quality. It can be a tricky line to walk, and most box stores fall short. If you’re searching for a local store that gives you access to gorgeous options both you and your child will love, let me tell you all about The Purple Goose. This charming Alexandria store has one of the best selections for adorable kids’ clothes.
The Purple Goose is a shop purchased in 1992 by Paula Hoelzel and Linda Thompson, a mother-and-daughter duo. Paula had always loved buying adorable children’s clothes and wanted to work with her daughter to establish a shop that let them chase down quality kids’ styles to help out other local parents.
The boutique was originally a consignment store, but over the years, they’ve switched to focus on new clothing from top children’s brands. You can check out the store at 2005 Mount Vernon Ave in Alexandria.
Since the beginning, The Purple Goose has had a knack for finding the cutest kids’ clothing. The shop has some of the best girls’ clothing, including bubble rompers, cozy knits, and sparkly dresses. During the holiday season, they offer dresses perfect for everything from relaxing family parties to formal mass services. Your child can accessorize with their extensive jewelry collection and their warm coats.
While the shop might be known for their dresses, boys won’t feel left out! The shop sells soft pajamas, dressy blazers, and snazzy dress shirts. Your child can stay on theme throughout the year with their lobster-themed shirts, their bunny Easter rompers, and their pumpkin Halloween onesies.
The store sells toys, including snuggly stuffed animals, engaging magnetic games, and entertaining books. Stop by during the holidays for their one-of-a-kind felt ornaments that will make your tree sparkle!
The store has partnered with Del Ray Monograms, so you can customize your child’s clothing. The shop has the equipment in-store, but you can preorder your monogram on Del Ray’s website and pick it up as you shop.
Throughout the year, the store goes all out for the holidays. During the spring, they bring in the Easter Bunny so you can schedule a seasonal pic while shopping for the perfect Easter outfit. The legendary Del Ray Halloween Parade goes right past the store’s front, so you can shop for some costumes before and after the event. They celebrate the Shops of Del Ray Holiday Sip and Shop that lets you sip wine while crossing gifts off your list.
At The Purple Goose, you can find an adorable outfit for any event. Check out this Alexandria shop today to transform your child’s wardrobe.
